The press
The press
Whispering Verse also publishes books: fiction, nonfiction, poetry and books for young readers. Every manuscript we are sent is read by a person, from the first page.
Behind the guides, news and reviews, Whispering Verse is an independent press. We never review the books we publish; our editorial standards explain how we keep the two apart.
Four lists
- Fiction. Novels and stories with a voice you remember.
- Nonfiction. Ideas, history and lives, told plainly.
- Poetry. Small books, read slowly.
- Young readers. Picture books and first chapters, read aloud.
Send us your work
- Write to us at info@whisperingverse.com and tell us a little about your book.
- We reply with how to send it.
- An editor reads it, from the first page, long enough to hear what the writing is doing. A person, not a filter.
Before you send, our guides for writers cover query letters, synopses and getting a manuscript ready.
